Noticed that we didn't really have any clear guideline regarding how lbs convert to our encumbrance slots so I added the blow to the Encumbrance page.
Took a little license with the Heavy armor and special items but this seems to translate ok when compared to carrying items using lbs in DnD I think.
I also added the bit about the using of STR requirements for armor unlike the variant rules in the PHB (ie in the PHB it states you don't have to use the STR requirements for armor on the armor table when using teh variant encumbrance rules). Thoughts?
5e DnD General Weights
- 50 coins = 1 pound = a Light item.
- Tiny = items up to 1 pound
- Light = weapons with the Light descriptor & items that weight 1 to 2 pounds
- Normal = most weapons & items that weigh between 2 - 9 pounds & Light Armors
- Heavy = weapons with the Heavy descriptor, items from 10 - 20 pounds and Medium Armors
- Special - Heavy armors take 5 slots. Other items over 20 pounds take their weight/10 slots (rounded up) - (eg Plate armor takes 5 slots and a 70lbs barrel takes 7 slots)
- NB: Unlike the variant encumbrance rule in the PHB, STR requirements on the Armor table are still a requirement to use a particular armor.
Initially I was going to go through and list every item, determine what percentage that item was for the weight listed at STR10, then use that to determine how many slots each item would in turn take up. Which I may still do at some point as it would give a much better depiction of how many slots each item should take up. But if I did that it really wouldn't be much different from just using the pounds in the first place so decided on the much simpler version above (which if I remember correctly is pretty much what we decided on)
