First of all. i just opened from the link above, but have you got this attached to the actual pages, rather than having to go in the Forums to find it?
Yes it is currently attached to the DnD DM Tools page as a file. I don't think you can upload documents to the forum pages just a link to somewhere else so I had to put it somewhere.
First attempts to open failed - I had to disable macros whatever that meant. I assume this is secure ;)
Yea , though if you disable them rather then enable them some things may not work correctly, mainly the buttons to move around the pages.
Had a quick look at the PHB one. So it generates a random PC I take it.
Not as such , it generates everything that there is a table for and you can pick and choose what you need/want. If something isn't relevant you just hit F9 and it will generate it again, but everything is generally unrelated to anything else. So if for example you want to create a NPC wizard and want to find a random school, you can just go to that. Need a few spells quickly for that warlock, jsut go to them. etc. Though somethings (especially in the race/class section) will only appear if the archtype is relevant. This was where I was just starting and I thought that would be better, still not sure, but it could be changed pretty easily to show all the time.
Though his standard languages were Elvish and Elvish?
That's probably, the "spoken" & "written"/script. But languages are divided into spoken/written, then any language, one common language and one exotic language.
Do ALL PCs come with vehicles like a boat? Or did I just get real lucky both times?
No, you dont have this , this just generates a random vehicle.
I didn't think he had stats, but found them. Then I see he has Inspiring Leader Feat (req Ch 13+, but his Cha is only 10)?
F9
Or am I reading this wrong? This is just to generate ANY random thing and each 'table' is completely unrelated to the next? Rather than different docs/tables, this just does everything and you scroll to the one item you were after.
Yes exactly. Though I know you'd rather just go look up the book and roll :)
So if developing an actual PC you might have to write down the relevent stuff from first go and reclick for other stuff?
You could do that or if you come to something that isn't relevant jsut hit F9/reclick until you get something relevant (which shouldn't be to long) and keep going as it generates everything, every time.
I know it's not perfect, but it can give you a lot of information pretty quickly if you need it.
