What an absolute heap of shit! Did anyone hear any of this? We had an Australia Day at the pool. I don't think I heard a single song that I liked (I only heard the top 1/2 to a 1/3). But HERE is the list if you are interested.
I know why I have not listened to this station in 10+ years, but people still tell me they play some good stuff. Well where is it? Number one! Absolute crap. I will use a friend's terminology when he heard it ('it' being Chet Faker's Talk Is Cheap): "it makes you want to cut up the veins instead of across". Brutal, but…wow.
From Tone Deaf (.com.au): "Not a single rock song in the Top 10."
"Not a single heavy track in the Top 20". Me personally - I am not sure of any rock bands in there either. I am guessing Sticky Fingers? And after quick look there is F-all after that either.
I see 4 songs from anything resembling punk; three of those are The Amity Affliction and one is the first Rise Against single. Just shows how 'alternative' JJJ is these days. Of all the awesome (and many underground) punk songs released last year, only Rise Against's most tame, commercial release yet made it in?
I am seeing a possible 5 songs that might make my Top 100 for the same year. Good to see some Aussie rock somewhere near the bottom half: Smith Street Band and British India got a whopping 1 track each in there.
Well, at least access to new music is so easy these days and I no longer have to rely on stations like JJJ anymore.
The only thing missing from this chart to make even more horrible are a few Arcade Fire songs.
