Ok I'll try and give you a basic rundown here COnnors.
Basic Syntax
[[div style="float:left; width:30%; padding:1%;"]]
+++ Column One Heading
Column One - Content
[[/div]]
[[div style="float:left; width:30%; padding:1%;"]]
+++ Column Two Heading
Column Two - Content
[[/div]]
[[div style="float:left; width:30%; padding:1%;"]]
+++ Column Three Heading
Column Three - Content
[[/div]]
- It's best if you can have the columns of about teh same length in content as it can muck around with the page formatting.
- the [[div]] bit tells wikidot that you are about to "divide" up the page and [[/div]] ends this and you need to do this for each column.
- the style bit tells you the look and structure of the columns
- You need to think of the width of a page as 100% - therefore you can see that the width of the columns is set at 30%. THe padding is a 1% of the page on each side of the column so that appear seperate from each other as well as the edge of the page. So 3x30% =90% and 6x1% (2x1% for each column) = 6%. Little bit left over is usually taken up around the outer sides of everything I think.
- Float puts it to the next left space free
Hope this makes it a little easier. As I said using columns can muck around with a pages format, especially under the bottom of the columns, so it might need to be played around with a little.
