OK, so Cypher only has 3 damage numbers 2/4/6 for players. I am doing our WEapon Groups and charts right now!
I am assigning damage to all weapons. Light and Heavy have actual properties that mean something, so I am eliminating those terms.
Of course it is easy to still assign 2/4/6 to such weapons, but do people think this is a little limiting? If I am going to give every weapon a damage number, wouldn't it be OK to have odd number damage too? I mean this is ONLY for PCs anyway, who write down weapon damage on their sheets anyway. So a PC gets a new weapon, they have to look it up and write all its properties anyway. The 'easy to remember' really doesn't play a part. It certainly does not assist GM, as once again NPC damage is assigned by lvl/creature, NOT the weapons used.
So, to further distinguish b/w some weapons I think it would be cool to vary the damage a little more than 3. (Imagine D&D with only 3 damage values, or even just 3 dice?)
