This may sound weird, but main thing holding me back from writing an adventure is putting all the random tables I would like to use to generate such an adventure into the one place.
I have now started this: Random Adventure Creator Page.
Inspired mostly by an old Dungeon Magazine article I have kept in my DM's folder since 2000 AND all the Savage Worlds setting books that all have charts for generating adventures on the fly in them. One of the biggest strengths of SW (but unfortunately there are no such tables for Deadlands - the one I would love to see). The new 5E DMG also was the kick in the pants to finally do this, as it has great tables for Adventure Design.
Anyway, I have started the process. I have only done this for fantasy at this stage. I will mine other books for additions, especially all the SW ones (though many of those only appropriate to their genre). In time, maybe we could do a Sci-Fi one, Modern/War, Western etc. (Not sure these will be more than the SW books anyway).
Anyhoo. Have a look. When I add a few more references, THEN I can't wait to roll up a couple of sample adventures to see what comes up :)
