Okay, I am playing around with this now.
One big thing I am trying to get my head around is the Queue. It is different to JBNow. Not across the bottom, but is a pop up. I didn't know how to add whole albums, but I have worked that out now.
There is a thumbs up and thumbs down button for every song. Not sure what thumbs down does, but thumbs up goes into auto playlist, ie: EVERYTHING you favourite goes into a mix. This is one thing I was asking for on JBNow. One button to hit to play a mix of Favs. So again, need to start faving.
Still working this out. All of my songs I have uploaded from my PC are auto there. For streamed albums/songs you have to "Add to Library". So your Fav list (everything you thumbs up is different from your library). Wow. You can even play you whole library randomly! (So only need to 'Thumbs Up' you absolute favs, but can keep whole records in library and play randomly :)) You add albums etc to library, so it appears like a big list of covers like the Favs in JBnow. You can view by Genre, Artist, Album and Songs. Under My Library are also your Playlists and any Radio Station you have played. (These last 2 seem to get added automatically).
This doesn't have to be tedious. Mine automatically grabs any new songs I place in my Favourite folder on my PC. So basically, you select folder on you PC and Google Play Music auto grabs and adds.
Called playlists. It has recommended ones and keeps track of others for you, like 'Last Added', 'Thumbs Up' and of course you can make your own :) This is where we can post SongADay mixes from now on. And YES, you CAN SHARE with others. Not exactly sure how that works, but you can make mixes public. This will be SO much better for my Top 100 lists, as on JBNow I ws never going to be able to include bands like The Fat Thing. With this I CAN. :) EDIT: You use socila media to share (FB, Google+ etc), but you can post a link to your mixes, which is probably better for our SongADay forum here anyway. (I used to go to JBNow to listen to Shane's anyway).
One thing I really liked about JBNow was the keeping track of Most Played Songs/Albums. I often checked out others. Not sure I can do this, but Google does keep a track count. Not sure if there is somewhere you can go to find this ranking though.
Almost identical to JBNow with desc, top played tracks, similar artists, etc. Main thing missing is the Fans section.
For each album and song there is also a rating of 1-5 if you open the actual album. You can also comment. Seems good, but not sure if you can search for specific people's comments.
Radio works very similar to JBNow with LOTS more genre groupings and fun everyday mixes. There is a Feeling Lucky mix based upon your library too. So it will play stuff it thinks you will like (as opposed to your Thumbs Up mix which is ONLY stuff you have faved. That is a cool feature. :) Band radio plays similar artists, not just the artist (but I very rarely used that anyway, though was cool prior to concert).
Free first month. Though I am sure there was a 60 day free trial - I clicked wrong button ;) $12 per month. Given the ability to mix your own stuff in and that there is a lot more than JBnow, that sounds excellent to me. :)
It has a mini-player displaying Artist, Song and album cover. You can also skip and thumbs up/down from mini player. This can be set to be 'Always on top' too which is great. I have it on the screen all the time.
