Paladins are actually a difficult one to narrow into a single TT. And perhaps we are better off without a Paladin TT. What would go in it? I can think of sever things, but they seem to belong in other TTs.
Perhaps Paladin should be an Edge that grants access to several other TTs. To build one, perhaps you simply need to look at getting access to several TTs. (I kind of always viewed Paladins as somewhat special, like a prestige class before there were PrCs).
I am looking at some paladins right now and I can see where I would put their powers (obviously I could get a lot of cool more Talents for these from Paladin write-ups):
- Their immune to fear stuff and mental resolve are covered by the Bravery and Mental Toughness TTs.
- Divine casting: Just take cleric (though some talents granting one particular spell, like Smite might be more appropriate).
- Smite - covered with spell or access to Slayer FS TT.
- Steed - Mounted FS TT access.
- Armored warrior and defense of others is simply the Warmain/Knight TT.
- Laying on of hands - Again cleric, the Healer TT (or divine something I am thinking about below).
- Challenge: Could easily go in the Slayer TT again.
The main thing missing is Auras (not really present in the 13th Age Paladin), and I was thinking of doing an Aura TT, but is that just Commander/Warlord and Leadership. It too could be 'divine-empowered' (see below).
NB: I am also thinking of a Divine Fighting or some sort of Divine-empowered TT that would reflect their connection to the divine and their fighting. Religious monks like sohei could also then take this.
So at this stage, I am thinking of one 'Divine-Empowered' TT to reflect divine inspired PCs of any sort (that aren't necessarily full clerics): paladins, avengers, favoured souls, divine monks/sohei etc. A lot of these Talents might simply be access to one spell like Smite.
