I have looked over putting these guys together and have been meaning to for some time.
When I do, I certainly want them to look something like Pathfinder sorcerers with innate bloodlines. 4E did this (3E to an extent) and it looks like 5E D&D is going down that route too.
With 5E it looks like meta-magic will be closely related to the class too.
I am not keen on the /SW Fantasy Companion's treatment of Sorcerer, that is for sure.
So, I was thinking: A Sorcerer Edge gets you two spells (one MUST be related to Bloodline) and you select a bloodline.
For casting spells I was going to call the Specialty Blood Magic. So you make a Will (Blood Magic) casting roll. I thought Will (even though Powers would be arcane) b/c the magic is coming from within. But perhaps Smarts is better for shaping? Thoughts: Smarts OR Will?
There would be a single Bloodlines TT. I thought of doing them all separate, but there would be heaps. I would rather just distinguish bloodlines within the TT.
There would also be an Entry Edge - Arcane Bloodline or somesuch - which also grants access to the Bloodlines TT. So you wouldn't have to be a full spellcasting Sorcerer to have a little draconic blood/power for eg. This would be cool too, as an actual sorcerer could take this Edge as well (and get two bloodlines). Unlikely, but possible.
Casting: I was going to make them non-PP casters. In fact I was just going to use the non-PP casting method straight from SW Deluxe, which I think is penalty on indiv spells = 1/2 PP cost.
Backlash: I was thinking something harsh and unique. Wild spells would use the wild random results. Ideas from Savage Worlds of Solomon Kane - they have a table. Could even go with Mental Trauma/Crit rolls.
Missing anything? How does all this sound?
