SIMIC HYBRID

Game Statistics & Lore. 5e D&D Guildmaster's Guide to Ravnica chapter 1.
Further Lore & Roleplaying Ideas. Simic hybrids are magically manipulated humanoids (typically humans, elves or verdalken) native to Ravnica. They could be used to represent any race that is the result of magic experimentation or bio-engineering.

Typical Simic Hybrid Drawbacks

Because of their varying nature there are not many drawbacks common to all simic hybrids, but many drawbacks would be appropriate and would suit the various mutations. For example, if you have aquatic adaptations the Dependency drawback where you have to immerse in water would be a suitable choice.

  • Socially Inept (Minor) OR Insensitive (Minor). Most simic hybrids have difficulty relating to others and can be a little unstable.
  • Outsider (Minor). Many people have difficulty relating to walking experiments. Of course in Ravnica, this would not apply to anyone within the Simic Combine.

Bonus Proficiencies. For each minor drawback assigned to a simic hybrid, you select one of the following: Acrobatics, Athletics, Endurance, Intimidation, Perception, Natural Weapons, or one relevant language.
